Objectives:

  • Conducting training programs relating to Communication/ Demography.
  • Developing communication strategy for Health and Family Welfare program implementation.
  • Developing IEC/BCC materials to the requirements of Central/State Governments, area projects, and NGOs on Health and Family Welfare themes.
  • Carrying out statistical data Compilation/Analysis/Interpretation for projects/research studies.

Training Activities:

It conducts capacity building trainings on Health Communication and Demography training for the government officials, academic institutions and NGOs. These training programs enhances the knowledge and skills of the trainees and also gives hands on experience for their creativity in Communication skills.

Production:

IEC materials are produced on need basis for Government projects, Academic institutions and NGOs. The health education materials produced disseminate updated and correct information to the people and thereby motivate them for desired changes in health behavior. Skilled and artistic designer is available to prepare advocacy materials tailored to the requirements.

Extension Education in the Community:

Awareness activities are conducted in the community through street theater, puppets shows, exhibitions, rallies, group discussions; this helps to educate the community members with the messages of Health and Family Welfare. Support service is done for the other departments in the planning, production and use of exhibits for health education programmes.

Media Resource Center:

A wide collection of Audio-visual learning materials are available for the trainees, Video shows are screened to visualize the concepts learned in the theory sessions. Media resources are lent to the students for the extension activities.

Documentation:

Photo and video facilities available for documenting the activities of the institute. Trained technicians are available for audio and video production.
